We got up at 4 AM on Saturday morning so Elizabeth could get all her art creations transported and set up at the Phoenix Art Fair/Swap Meet by 7:30 AM. Ah, what one won’t do for the love of the arts and for love itself… 🙂
We finished Saturday with a midnight dinner, after attending a marvelous performance of “Don Pasquale” (Gaetano Donizetti) by the Arizona Opera and the newly renovated Orpheum Theater in downtown Phoenix.
We also saw “Don Pasquale” in Honolulu a little over two years ago (left), but I have to say that the Arizona Opera performance was superior.
Oddly enough, even though the opera premiered in Paris in January 1843, it was cast in Hollywood of the 1950s in the Phoenix version. Unusual, but it worked.
Same people – two different images – BY DAY and AT NIGHT… 🙂
