What a welcome home. We have witnessed the awesome power of the Yang and the Yin forces in just three days.
First, when we returned home from Australia three days ago, we found the riverbed of our seasonal Namaka creek completely dry. It was still dry as of last night.
That was the Yang (masculine, dry) energy of the Rainbow Shower on display.
Then last night, I heard the sounds of rain mixed with occasional thunderclaps. That’s VERY unusual for us here in Hawaii. Elizabeth and I can recall only two other thunderstorms in six years.
When I woke up this morning, I heard the unmistakable sound of a roaring creek. That was the Yin (feminine, water) force making its presence known.
“Another flash flood,” I immediately thought.
I went down to the gulch investigate even before my first morning cup of coffee. And this is what I found (also see the video below).
All the while, the music “Funiculi, Funicula” was playing in my Third Ear.
So when I came back up to the house, I recorded a new version of it, with symphony horns (instead of the chorus) as the lead orchestral voices. It is this version that you will hear in the video.
Enjoy and prepare to be amazed! 🙂

By the way, my newly reconstructed footbridge has passed the test of “seaworthiness.” The creek has now subsided to below the bridge. And the bridge is still standing, after the raging flood waters of the rushing creek washed all over it, depositing even some tree limbs against it. 🙂
Thank you for the video which shows the beginning of a flash flood and how it builds up, and the opportunity to think about how to improve the properties in the future, Bob Altzar. Love, Armand L. Archambeault.
