Day 4, Jan 2, 2018 – SUPERMOON AND BEATLES’ “SARGENT PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB”
Yesterday, I realized I had packed only one long sleeve shirt. And with the Hawaiian sun beating down at 84°F, I needed a good cover for our morning beach walks.
So on the spur of the moment, I bought a new Beatles shirt. Actually, that’s not entirely true. By the time I finished taking the 70% New Year’s Day discount, and using the points I had accumulated with earlier purchases, this souvenir shirt cost me exactly – ZERO! So it was a free New Year’s Day gift, you might say.
It also brought back memories of Elizabeth and me in London in Oct 2010 “On the Beatles’ Trail” – see http://yinyangbob.com/Europe2010/London%203.htm. At the time, I bought a “Sargent Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club” shawl as it was a chilly fall day.\
You can also see us hugging on the famous Abbey Rd, which became the cover of the Beatles’ most successful album.
When I mentioned that in the store to the sales lady of about my age, she got all mushy and nostalgic. “Oh, I was such a big Beatles fan,” she reminisced.
So when Elizabeth and I went for our morning walk on the Kihei beaches, I asked her to take a picture of me and my new souvenir.
